On May 20th, 1989, more than 40,000 Hong Kongers braved a Signal 8 typhoon to take to the streets in support of the Beijing students. The June 4th Museum chose the 31st anniversary of that date to open this 2020 exhibition. The new exhibition's theme was "From the 1989 Democracy Movement to the Anti-Extradition Movement", connecting, comparing, and contrasting the two movements in terms of their historical backgrounds, timelines, methods, and artifacts. The exhibition also featured displays designed by political cartoonist Zunzi (Wong Kei-kwan), illustrating scenes from the two movements for visitors to take photos of. The exhibition ran until April 16th, 2021.
